How to Save Barcode Scan History as a PDF
A short guide to saving barcode and QR code scan history as a PDF on iPhone. Barcode Reader X makes a clean list for records and reports.
Sometimes you need scan results as a record, or as something you can send to another person. When the recipient may not have a spreadsheet app, PDF is the easiest format to share.
When PDF Works Best
- You want a record of the work you did
- You want to send a list to a manager or a client
- You want to print the list and check it on site
- You want the file to open anywhere
How to Export a PDF with Barcode Reader X
With the iPhone app Barcode Reader X, you can export your scan history as a PDF.
- Scan a barcode or QR code
- Review the results on the history screen
- Open the export menu
- Choose “PDF”
- Save or share the file
The PDF lists the number, code, format, and timestamp as a table. Longer histories continue onto more pages.
Check Before You Send
A PDF stays with whoever receives it. Before sharing, make sure the content is safe to send.
- No real tracking numbers or client reference numbers you should not share
- No leftover scans you did not intend to include
Rows you do not need can be removed by swiping them sideways in the list.
Notes
- The free version limits how many exports you can try
- The remaining count is shown under Plan in Settings
