How to Manage Barcode Scan History in Excel
A simple guide to exporting barcode and QR code scan history to Excel on iPhone. Barcode Reader X turns your scans into a ready-made sheet.
Sometimes you want your scanned product codes or asset numbers organized as a table. Typing them by hand takes time and invites mistakes.
Exporting your scan history as an Excel file (.xlsx) gives you a sheet you can use right away.
When Excel Export Helps
- You want a list of product codes
- You want a ledger of equipment or asset numbers
- You want to add columns such as product name or owner
- You want to hand the results to someone as a sheet
How to Export Excel with Barcode Reader X
With the iPhone app Barcode Reader X, you can export your scan history as an Excel (.xlsx) file.
- Scan a barcode or QR code
- Review the results on the history screen
- Open the export menu
- Choose “Excel (.xlsx)”
- Save or share the file
What the File Contains
The Excel file includes these columns.
| Column | Content |
|---|---|
| No. | Sequential number |
| Code | The scanned text |
| Format | Barcode type |
| Date and time | When it was scanned |
Because the format and timestamp are kept, sorting and filtering later is easy.
Review the History First
Check the list before you export. A row scanned by mistake can be removed by swiping it sideways.
Notes
- The free version limits how many records are stored and how many exports you can try
- You can check the limits and remaining count under Plan in Settings
